# SDK Reference

> Exact signatures, parameters, and examples for every public gatewaysdk API, organized by feature area.

Each page below lists the public APIs of one feature area with its exact signature, a parameter table, and a runnable example, verified against the `gatewaysdk` source. The [Python SDK](/sdk) pages cover the same APIs as task walkthroughs.

| Page | Covers |
| - | - |
| [Tracing](/sdk-reference/tracing) | `tracing.init`, the trace/span decorators, `tracing.session`, `identify`, semantic-convention keys, the exporter, auto-instrumentation registry |
| [Runs & Scoring](/sdk-reference/runs-scoring) | The `run` decorator, the `Run` class, `success()` and `score()`, rollouts, experiments |
| [Sessions, Replay & Users](/sdk-reference/sessions-replay) | Loading and dumping sessions, replay suites and reports, the users client |

Install the package and set credentials once; every example assumes:

```bash theme={null}
pip install gatewaysdk
export GATEWAY_HOST="https://your-instance.example.com"
export GATEWAY_PUBLIC_KEY="pk-lf-..."
export GATEWAY_SECRET_KEY="sk-lf-..."
```

The world clients — `world_sessions`, `world_tasks`, `world_data`, `environments` and `benchmark_hub` — are documented under [Python SDK](/sdk) rather than here.

These pages cover the Python package. The TypeScript package `@withgateway/sdk` has its own reference section covering worlds, live sessions, the parallel task runner, pull request validation, the hub, scores, replay and tracing. See [TypeScript SDK](/sdk-ts).

For narrative walkthroughs, start with [Get Started](/get-started) or [Worlds](/worlds). For the HTTP surface, see the [REST API](/rest-api); for the terminal, [The gateway CLI](/cli).
